Pumpkin Spice Cheerios? General Mills Hopes New Flavor Will Boost Cereal Sales
MINNEAPOLIS (CBS) – The pumpkin spice craze is coming to your morning bowl of cereal.
General Mills tells Bloomberg that it's planning to roll out "Pumpkin Spice Cheerios" later this year. The company is hoping that fans of the trendy fall coffee flavor can be persuaded to add it to their cereal as well.

Cereal executives have struggled to market the longtime breakfast staple to millennials, with some young people saying that it's "too much work" to prepare a bowl of cereal in the morning.
General Mills also just came out with a limited-edition batch of gluten-free Strawberry Cheerios.
