Framingham Native Injured In Pulse Massacre Meets Orlando Police Chief

BOSTON (CBS) – A Framingham native who played dead to survive the massacre inside an Orlando gay nightclub met the city's police chief as he continues recovering from his injuries.

Angel Colon was shot several times inside Pulse nightclub earlier this month in what was the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

Colon continues recovering in an Orlando hospital.

Orlando Police tweeted a picture from Friday showing Colon with Police Chief John Mina.

Police said Mina "had the pleasure of meeting Angel Colon, brave Pulse survivor getting stronger every day."

Mina was visiting the hospital to thank doctors and nurses who saved the lives of many shooting victims.

Colon's uncle, who is from Framingham, said after the shooting that it's a "miracle that he's alive."

GoFundMe page has been set up to help Colon in his recovery.
