Over $20,000 Missing In Providence After Cash Falls Out Of Brink's Truck

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (CBS) – Walk the streets of Providence, and you might just spot some cash up for grabs.

The Providence Journal reports that more than $20,500 went missing in Upper South Providence after it fell out of a Brink's armored truck late Wednesday morning.

The truck was turning into Rhode Island Hospital when the back door opened and three large cash bags tumbled up, according to The Journal.

The newspaper stated that cash started flying in the wind when a car ran over two of the bags.

The Brink's workers tried to pick up as much loose cash as they could, but couldn't find it all.

Usually, police ask that lost money is returned, The Journal notes.
