Prosecutors: Drugs Found At Odin Lloyd Murder Scene

BOSTON (CBS) – For the first time, prosecutors have revealed that police may have found illegal drugs at the scene of Odin Lloyd's murder in North Attleboro.

Lawyers for Aaron Hernandez, who is charged in Lloyd's murder, are trying to get some evidence found at his home thrown out. That evidence includes a towel, scale and dish found in a Toyota in the garage at Hernandez's North Attleboro home.

Prosecutors responded to that motion saying, "The scale and dish were plausibly viewed as drug paraphernalia. Material believed to be illegal drugs had been found at the scene of the murder and so any evidence of drug use by the defendant was highly relevant to the crime under investigation."

Prosecutors say the towel found in the car was similar to a towel found at the murder scene.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the fatal shooting of Odin Lloyd in June 2013. Hernandez is also charged separately in a Boston double murder in 2012.
