Police Commissioner Bill Evans said there were about 40,000 people at the demonstrations.  A total of 27 people were arrested according to Boston Police.

Walsh replied to the president's final tweet about Boston less than an hour later.

There were no serious injuries reported, despite some protesters scuffling with police as the demonstrations ended.

No major property damage was reported either.
