Police Seek Pickup Truck Driver In Fatal Wheelbarrow Crash

OXFORD (CBS) -- Massachusetts State Police are looking to speak with two drivers in a fatal crash involving a wheelbarrow in Oxford Saturday.

A 32-year-old man was killed trying to avoid the wheelbarrow that fell from a moving vehicle on Route 395 southbound at about 1 p.m. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

After speaking with witnesses, police are looking for drivers from two vehicles that are believed to have been at the scene.

Authorities are seeking a red pickup truck with red wooden sides. The wheelbarrow was sitting on top of a pile of mulch in the truck when it fell off, according to witnesses.

Police also want to speak to a green Ford Explorer driver described as a "thin, black male." He stopped and talked with people at the scene moments before the fatal crash, police said.
