Police Seek Driver In Fatal Dedham Pedestrian Hit And Run

DEDHAM (CBS) – A pedestrian was killed Friday night during a hit-and-run in Dedham.

Dedham police said that at about 10:45 p.m. officers were called to Washington Street at Lower East Street where they found 54-year-old Jeannie Heppler lying on the sidewalk.

Heppler was transported to Norwood Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police believe Heppler was crossing Washington Street when she was hit in the southbound travel lane by a passing vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, according to police.

Investigators are looking for a 2000-2006 Ford Escape with passenger side headlight and side view mirror damage.
