Police Seek Attacker In Reported East Boston Sexual Assault

BOSTON (CBS) -- Police are asking for the public's help to find the attacker in a reported sexual assault and armed robbery in East Boston on Saturday morning.

A woman called police just before 3 a.m. to report the assault. She told police that she was walking home on Border Street when a Hispanic man approached her from behind, threatened her with a sharp object, and then sexually assaulted and robbed her.

The suspect was seen leaving the area on foot toward Shaw's Supermarket at 246 Border Street, according to police. He is described as a Hispanic male, mid-to-late 20s, 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches, thin build, and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with blue lettering and dark-colored jeans.

The woman also told police that the man spoke with a Hispanic accent.

Police searched the area but were unable to find the man. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
