2 People Killed In East Brookfield Crash Identified

EAST BROOKFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts police have released the names of two people who died in a three-car crash.

East Brookfield Police Lt. William Gregoire says 61-year-old Joseph Nardone, of Leicester, and 48-year-old Rene Lavallee, of Spencer, were the victims of the collision Tuesday on Route 49.

The Telegram and Gazette reports three others were injured in the crash.

An initial investigation of the crash indicates Nardone was trying to pass another car when he collided with Lavallee and was ejected from his vehicle.

Gregoire says Nardone and Lavallee, who was trapped in his vehicle, died at the scene. The passenger in Lavallee's car suffered serious injuries.

Two people in the third vehicle were hurt.
