Police: Molotov Cocktail Thrown Into South Boston Home

BOSTON (AP) — Police are investigating after a makeshift Molotov cocktail was thrown through a window at a home in South Boston.

The home's residents told The Boston Globe they awoke Saturday morning and discovered a burnt plastic bottle with a cloth inside it had been thrown into their family room.

The bottle had been lit but never exploded. No injuries were reported.

Members of the Boston police bomb squad and the fire department responded to the scene.

Civil rights detectives were brought in because the home's residents are black and gay.

Police haven't said whether they believe it was a targeted incident.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
