Police investigate Brockton fatal stabbing and laundromat robbery

Police investigate Brockton robbery and stabbing

BROCKTON — Police are investigating two separate crimes – a robbery of a laundromat and a fatal stabbing – which occurred only half a mile away from each other during the early hours of the morning on Saturday in Brockton.

At around 4:40 am, police were driving down Belmont Avenue searching for answers in relation to a robbery at Dream Machines Laundry on Pleasant Street when they noticed a man laying down on the ground, stabbed.

Upon discovery, the 41-year-old was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital where he died due to his injuries.

"It's an unfortunate tragedy that this happened," said Dream Machines manager, David Cabral.

It is unclear if the two crimes are related but police are actively working to find out if they are.

"I grew up here my whole life. Went to school here – elementary school – I'm raising my daughter here in the same house I grew up in," said Priscillya Peronel, who lives seconds away from the dream machines laundromat.

"It's just disheartening knowing you bring your family here and you're doing things here and then to know someone can come in and do that when people are here, it's just sad," she continued.

The victim's identity has yet to be released and investigations into each incident are ongoing.
