Police Investigate Brighton Assault That Left Man With Severe Head Injuries

BOSTON (CBS) – Police are seeking the public's help in their investigation of an assault early Friday morning that left a man unconscious with life-threatening head injuries.

Officers responded to a call at about 2 a.m. that a man has been assaulted in the area of 354 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Brighton.

Police arrived and found a man in his early 20s unconscious in a parking lot behind a building that contains a restaurant and bar popular with Boston College students.

The victim was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. His name has not been released.

Anyone with information or who may have been in the area at the time of the assault is asked to call the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.

A week ago, police investigated a similar attack in the area of 1350 Commonwealth Ave in Brighton.
