Police Identify Victim Of Tuesday Mattapan Shooting

BOSTON (AP) — Boston police have released the name of the teenage victim of a brazen daytime shooting this week in the city's Mattapan neighborhood.

Eighteen-year-old Joshua Morales and a 19-year-old man were shot as they walked down a street at about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Both victims were taken to the hospital where Morales died. The other victim's injuries are not considered life threatening.

Witnesses said the pair was shot by two men who drove up in a car. Police are looking for a black Acura seen driving from the area after the shooting.

Both victims were residents of a Department of Youth Services halfway house, although they were not in state custody.
