Police Identify Man Who Died In Springfield Stabbing

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Springfield police have released the name of a 21-year-old man who died after being stabbed on a city street Saturday night.

Police said Sunday the victim was David Steven Guasp of Springfield.

His death is the city's 14th homicide this year and the second on High Street.

Police said Guasp was stabbed in the abdomen behind an apartment building at around 7 p.m. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he died about an hour later.

Police said they are investigating what led to the killing. No one has been arrested.

Anyone with information is asked to call Springfield police at 413-787-6355, or text an anonymous tip to "CRIMES," or "274637," beginning the body of the message with the word "SOLVE."
