Police: Hit-And-Run Suspect Threatens Woman, Kids With Knife

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) - A young driver accused in a hit and run in Manchester, New Hampshire is now facing serious charges. But it took some serious effort to catch him, including a chase from the mother and her two children that police say he struck.

The woman was driving south on I-293 in Manchester, New Hampshire when police say 19-year-old Adrian Yates of New Boston, hit her and took off. She pursued him for a few miles on the highway until police say he got off an exit onto Candia Road.

Police say he was brandishing a knife out the window in a threatening manner toward her.

With her children in tow, she kept following Yates through a few parking lots until finally losing sight of his orange Pontiac. Through it all the she contacted police to report what was happening and help them track Yates.

They were able to locate his vehicle on Candia Road and arrest him on charges of Conduct after an Accident and Felony level Criminal Threatening. He'll be arraigned on November 3, 2014.
