Police: Bootprints Link Suspect To Mansfield Burglaries

MANSFIELD (CBS) - A pair of boots led to the arrest of a Mansfield man. Police say Michael Kane Jr. broke into six businesses in Mansfield.

He was allegedly wearing snowmobiling boots during three of the break-ins, which left behind a unique print in the snow.

Detectives figured out what type of boot left behind that print.

Police say Kane was also captured on surveillance video, but they didn't have to do much more to track him down.

"One of our detectives was actually following up and actually at one of the businesses looking at the video of the suspect and he looked out the window and the guy walked by," said Mansfield Police Sgt. Larry Crosman.

When police arrested Kane, he was still wearing the boots.
