Woman Found Dead On Plum Island
NEWBURY (CBS) -- Police in Newbury are investigating after a woman was found dead on Plum Island.
The body of the adult female was discovered Sunday morning by people walking on the beach within the federal Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, a spokeswoman for the Essex County District Attorney said.
The walkers notified Newbury police, and the body was removed by the Medical Examiner's Office.
There was no identification on the victim, officials said.
UPDATE: Officials said Monday that foul play is not suspected.
