Pilot Hurt In Small Plane Crash In Laconia, NH

LACONIA, N.H. (CBS) — A pilot was seriously hurt when a small plane crashed in Laconia, New Hampshire Thursday morning.

The single-engine plane went down near some woods near Hadley Road around 8:30 a.m. Only one person, the pilot, was on board when the plane crashed.

There was no fire.

Laconia police say the pilot was treated inside the cockpit while emergency officials were waiting for a MedFlight helicopter to arrive.

The pilot was the only one on board in the crash. (WBZ-TV)

The pilot, identified by police as Tom Volpe of Laconia, was flown to Dartmouth Hospital. He is currently in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
