Pickup Truck Catches Fire At Wareham Burger King Drive-Thru

WAREHAM (CBS) -- A pickup truck caught fire and it spread to a Burger King drive-thru in Wareham on Sunday afternoon, causing significant damage.

The fire broke out shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the fast food restaurant on Cranberry Highway. Wareham firefighters and police and Onset firefighters responded to the scene.

Firefighters found the late-model Chevy completely engulfed in flames and smoke, and the blaze extended to the outside of the building.

Investigators say the truck had a mechanical failure, which led to it catching fire.

No one was hurt in the fire, which was put out quickly. Fire officials say the building sustained about $20,000 in damage.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
