Driver killed in crash just after "confrontation" at Dollar Tree store in Raynham, Massachusetts, police say

Man killed in pickup truck crash in Raynham that left passenger critically injured

A driver was killed and a passenger was critically hurt in a violent crash involving a pickup truck Sunday night in Raynham, Massachusetts. It happened just after an incident at a nearby store.

Police said they received a 911 call at 8:12 p.m. Sunday for the report of a person driving "erratically" near South Street West. Moments later they were told a pickup truck had crashed into a tree on the same street. At the scene, debris was scattered across the road and one of the pickup's back wheels was torn off.

Police said the crash came shortly after some sort of "confrontation" at a Dollar Tree store just up the road.

The driver, later identified as 31-year-old Dylan Manoli of Taunton, died at the scene. The only passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her name has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other information was immediately available.

Raynham is in Bristol County. It's about 34 miles south of Boston.
