Phantom Gourmet: Burger Dive In Somerville

BOSTON (CBS) --- Sometimes a burger just looks so good, you'll want to dive right in. And next time that happens, you should head to Burger Dive. Located at Somerville's Assembly Square, this clean industrial space is always crowded with customers looking for a taste of Burger Dive's all natural, one third pound, juicy griddled beauties.

There are classics, like the Cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. And more over the top offerings like the Frito Chili Cheddar Burger, smothered with queso, chili, and corn chips.

"You get crunch, you get corn flavor, and everybody knows Fritos always goes well with chili and then we figured the burger would be a great vehicle for putting all those things together."

Besides the burgers, there are thick creamy milkshakes... all kinds of deep fried sides... and all beef Pearl hot dogs... a favorite of owner Chris Damien.

"A personal favorite of mine is the Pearl hot dog. It's a local company, we love the all beef flavor, and we said it would be a perfect thing to add here," he says.

The inside of Burger Dive is a bit minimalist, with a busy open kitchen and plenty of metal and wood... But parked outside the restaurant is a car that is certain to catch your eye... the Burgermobile. Complete with pickles, onions, and a sesame seed bun, this car always causes a scene when it hits the streets.

So for a great burger, just take a drive, to Burger Dive.

For more food and fun, watch the Phantom Gourmet on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 and 11 a.m. on myTV38.
