BOSTON (CBS) – Dan Andelman of the Phantom Gourmet checked out some local Italian restaurants known for big portions and affordable prices.

Luna Rossa in Tewksbury is an Italian trattoria known for affordable plates of chicken parmesan, hand-made gnocchi, and home-style meatballs.

Madeline's in Coventry, Rhode Island provides big value on red sauce classics and you can save some more money by bringing your own wine.

Quattro on Hanover Street is a rare dining bargain in the North End, firing up $10 brick oven pizzas and entrees for under $20.

Some other top spots for affordable Italian include Galleria Umberto in the North End and Fiorella's Express in Brighton and Belmont.
