Pet Parade: 'Lucky Dog' Host Brandon McMillan

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Pet Parade welcomed a very special guest on Sunday morning to talk about the importance of shelter adoption.

Brandon McMillan is the host of the Emmy-winning "Lucky Dog" program on CBS. He says he aims to break the stereotypes about shelter animals.

"We prove that shelter dogs are just as trainable, if not more trainable than breeder-bought dogs," McMillan said. "Rescue dogs really are those hidden treasures in shelters."

McMillan, who used to train dogs for movies, demonstrated how a dog named Atlas will help a soldier wounded in Iraq.

You can watch "Lucky Dog" Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. on WBZ-TV.
