Pet Parade: Lowell Humane Society

BOSTON (CBS) -- Two hamsters and two cats up for adoption from Lowell Humane Society were featured on the Pet Parade Sunday.

This little guy's name is an odd one--I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. (WBZ-TV)

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter was so named because his hair reminded Lowell Humane Society staff of Fabio. He is part of a batch of Syrian hamsters that the shelter received recently. He is very sweet and playful, and could get along fine with other hamsters!

Despite her name, Possum is a hamster, not an opossum. (WBZ-TV)

Possum, with her beautiful coloring, came from the same group of hamsters as I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Lowell Humane Society wants to remind people to please take their pets to a shelter when they can no longer take care of them--unlike Possum's previous owners, who left her in a cage in a park with the other hamsters.

Chickadee. (WBZ-TV)

Chickadee is a sweet cat who needs a lot of love. She is undergoing medical tests, and may have lymphoma. Lowell Humane Society is looking for someone with a big heart who can take her in for the time she has left. She was found during a snowstorm by a plow driver. She would love nothing more than to sit in your lap and be cuddled!

Hardcore Henry, a four-week-old kitten. (WBZ-TV)

Another little guy with a big name, Hardcore Henry is only four weeks old! He's very busy, and is still learning how to be a good kitty from some older cats. A good Samaritan found him for sale online along with his siblings, but realized that he was probably too young to be away from his mother and got him to the shelter.
