One Woman Seriously Injured, One Arrested After Fight, Dragging By Car

BOSTON (CBS) -- A fight between two women left one arrested and another fighting for her life after being dragged by a car and run over by a taxi cab early Sunday morning.

Boston Police arrested 26-year-old Brianna Smith of Dorchester, charging her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and operating under the influence.

They said the fight, which happened around 4 a.m. at Mass Ave near Pompeii Street, resulted in Smith driving away from the scene while dragging the victim, a 29-year-old woman.

Police said the woman was dragged for a block before being run over by a cab.

The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, and is in "very serious condition" according to police.

Another woman who was with Smith and the victim was taken to Beth Israel as a precaution.
