HINGHAM (CBS) -- A 62-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a boat trailer on Route 3A in Hingham on Sunday.

Hingham police say the Weymouth man was hit just after noon on the southbound side of Lincoln Street near the entrance to Lincoln plaza.

It appears the man had been standing on the sidewalk near an MBTA bus and fell or stepped into the street when he was hit by the trailer, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he later died.

A 19-year-old Waltham man was towing the boat with his pickup truck, and he stayed at the scene. He's not facing any charges at this time.
