Tom Brady Talks About His 'Humorous' Foot Locker Commercial

BOSTON (CBS) -- The DeflateGate saga cost Tom Brady four games to start the 2016 season, so many were surprised earlier this week when the Patriots quarterback was featured in a new Foot Locker commercial poking fun at the ordeal.

Asked about his latest staring role on Friday, Brady said it was all in good fun.

"I think it was just a humorous commercial," Brady told reporters before the Patriots departed for San Francisco on Friday. "I think they've done a pretty good job of that over the years that they've done these ads. It's kind of cool. I grew up watching a lot of those, being at Foot Locker when I was growing up, so when they approached us I thought it was a pretty humorous idea."

Brady was asked if he was at all worried about the reception the commercial may receive, given how passionately New England fans defended him during the 18-month circus.

"I didn't think about that much," Brady replied. "I thought it was kind of a funny thing."

Whether you thought it was funny or not, it's good to see Brady in such good spirits about the ordeal. And as he explained earlier this week to the San Francisco media, he had to fill his time with something during his four-game suspension.

"I had a lot of free time on my hands at the beginning of the year, so I had to find ways to fill it," the QB joked.
