Top Tweets And Vines From The First Joint Practice Between Patriots And Saints

BOSTON (CBS) -- The first joint practice between the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints has come and gone. Both teams escaped without any fights or injuries, so by that measure it was a successful session.
If you are reading this you're probably sick of DeflateGate talk, so let's look at the actual football team. There were some highlights from the joint practice that should make Patriots fans feel good about how the team is progressing.
WBZ's Dan Roche was in attendance, so his takeaways will give a clearer picture of how the practice went. But based on the highlights from Twitter and Vine, both teams had ups and downs but looked strong overall.
Tom Brady participated fully and played as if nothing is going with him on off the field, which was perhaps the most encouraging sign - not that you'd expect Brady to struggle in drills anyway.
Here's what we know about today's joint practice so far:
Brady doesn't look the least bit distracted.
Brady threw a sick TD to Amendola behind two DBs in the back corner of the end zone. Perfect loft from the 10 to cap a 2-minute drill.

Dont'a Hightower is back and looks to be picking up where he left off.
Hightower forced a fumble.

There was a Tavon Wilson sighting.
The teams prefer to have rap music absolutely BLASTING during warmups.
New cornerback Tarell Brown looked good in drills...
Tarell Brown is charging hard for a starting job. Two PBUs in the end zone as Brees was 1 of 5 from the 10 in an 11-on-11 period.

...But Malcolm Butler seemed to take a step back.
Bad drive for Butler vs. Brees offense. Started with an INC then gave up three catches, including 40-yarder and a TD. Plus a PI flag.

Josh Boyce continued to look way better in practice than in games.

Overall, more positive than negative for the Pats. The biggest thing is Tom Brady appears locked in as he prepares for the season like normal, blocking out the legal distractions from DeflateGate.
