Patriots Rookies Petrified Of Going Off Script, Can't Answer The Simplest Questions

BOSTON (CBS) - Maybe you've heard, but the New England Patriots have been in the news lately.

There's a lot of pressure on the defending Super Bowl champions from the media, so you can only imagine how much that pressure is magnified on these rookies, who are facing questions for the first time as professionals.

Organized team activities are underway in Foxboro, and after introducing first round pick Malcom Brown on Wednesday, the rest of the rookie class were made available to the media on Thursday, and man were they petrified of saying the wrong thing.

On Friday morning, 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich played some audio from Patriots OTAs, and it's clear the fresh crop of players don't want to rock the boat in their first appearance with the media.

They were unable to answer the simplest questions, including ones about being a fan of hockey, video games and basically everything else.

The rooks toed the company line (just as head coach Bill Belichick likely instructed them to do), and gave the reporters absolutely nothing in terms of soundbites.
