Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan Ranked Among 50 'Most Fit' Athletes

BOSTON (CBS) -- A pair of New England Patriots are among the "Most Fit Athletes" in the world, according to Sports Illustrated.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and new receiver Chris Hogan, both notorious gym rats according to their social media accounts, cracked the list of the top 50 males.

The list was assessed on six criteria, including strength (the pushing power of a lineman or the force of an ultimate fighter); speed (the top end of a sprinter or the burst of a running back); endurance (a runner's bottomless reserve or a boxer's ability to keep going in a bout); and agility (the balance of a downhill skier or a euro step at full speed on the break).

Hogan ranked 38th, with SI calling him one of the fittest receivers in the NFL:

Hogan may not be one of the most notable players in the NFL, but the former college lacrosse standout and New Jersey native is training to be one of the league's top (and fittest) wide receivers. His high-intensity workouts hone balance, agility and explosiveness through exercises such as sprints and sled pushes. It's only right that he trains at a facility called "Freak Strength."

Gronkowski was listed at No. 46, lauded for his intense workouts and commitment to fitness:

Gronkowski's 6′6″, 265-pound frame is near impossible to stop on the football field thanks to his intense workouts and commitment to fitness. Now Gronk is taking his passion one step further with his new family business, Gronk Fitness Products, a line of performance fitness products built for sports facilities and home gyms.

Don't be surprised if these two get into a few lifting contests throughout the 2016 NFL season.

Track and Field star Ashton Eaton landed in the top spot on the list. Former Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo also made the list, one spot ahead of Gronkowski at No. 45.
