Patriots Preseason Opener Ranks Among Boston's Most Watched TV Programs
FOXBOROUGH (CBS) -- Step aside, Donald Trump.
Thursday night's Patriots preseason opener beat out the Republican primary debates, the Stanley Cup and the NBA Finals in Boston TV ratings, according to the Patriots.
More than 520,000 people watched Thursday's game, making it the third most watched Patriots preseason opener in over a decade.
The game was the highest rated TV program in Boston since the Academy Awards on Feb. 22. It was the highest rated program on WBZ-TV since the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8.
The Patriots take on the New Orleans Saints on Saturday Aug. 22 at 7:30p.m. The game will air on WBZ-TV.
