Patriots NFL Draft Day 3 Live Blog

Check in for all of New England's moves on the final day of the 2019 NFL Draft!

6:31 p.m.: The final pick is in -- CB Ken Webster from Ole Miss. And that's all she wrote! All in all, it was a busy and fun draft weekend for the Pats.

6:06 p.m.: It's been a while, but it's almost time for another Patriots pick. They're due up at No. 252, which is about a half-dozen picks away. That'll likely put a bow on the weekend for the Pats.

3:27 pm.: Another tight end off the board, as the San Francisco 49ers drafted Stanford's Kaden Smith with pick No. 179.

2:54 p.m.: They did it! The pick to end all picks. The Patriots have drafted a punter.

The Pats even traded up to do so, taking Stanford punter Jake Bailey at No. 163. Trading up to draft a punter in the fifth round is such a Belichick move.

Scouts say he has a booming right leg (yes, he's right-legged, which isn't as Belichickian) and can sky punts, leading all of college football in hangtime in 2018. He averaged 43.8 yards per punt with the Cardinals, and also handled kickoff duties early in his career.

Now he'll compete with Ryan Allen in what should be an amazing and entertaining punter battle this summer. Allen was one of New England's best players in their Super Bowl LIII, but he'll have to beat out another rookie after winning last summer's "battle" with Corey Bojorquez.

With the trade, the Patriots now only have two picks left and they're both in the seventh round:  Nos. 246 and 252.

2:46 p.m.: The Patriots traded up to pick No. 159 to draft defensive lineman Byron Cowart our of Marlyand.

Cowart stands at 6-foot-3 and just under 300 pounds, and with 34-inch arms, he has the size for the NFL. He transferred from Auburn and spent his senior year at Maryland, totaling 38 tackles, five tackles for loss, a forced fumble and two interceptions.

Consistency is Cowart's biggest issue, but he gives the Patriots a versatile lineman and some depth at an area of need.

2:25 p.m.: If you were hoping Hunter Renfrow would end up on the Patriots, no dice. The Clemson receiver/return man was drafted by the Raiders with the 149th overall pick.

1:34 p.m.: The first pick is in, and it's Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham, who will compete to be Tom Brady's backup this spring.

Stidham has a nice arm and threw for 2,794 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions last year at Auburn. He played two years for the Tigers, spending his freshman year at Baylor. For his three-year collegiate career, Stidham completed 64 percent of his passes, tossing 48 touchdowns and just 13 interceptions in 848 attempts.

And if you're hoping for another pick, well we got some bad news for you. The Patriots have traded out of No. 134:

1:31 p.m.: The Patriots are now on the clock with back-to-back picks.

12:55 p.m.: The Patriots went offensive line with their first pick on Saturday, drafting guard Hjalte Froholdt out of Arkansas.

He's from Denmark and was the Razorbacks starting guard the last three seasons, and also has some experience at center. "The Great Dane," as Froholdt is known, committed just two penalties during is collegiate career. And according to the Razorbacks bio, he allowed just three sacks in college, all in 2016 when he transitioned from the defensive line to the offensive line.

He's also a giant at 6-foot-5 and 306 pounds.

Froholdt was initially a defensive lineman his freshman year but switched sides in 2016. He is knocked for having small arms, and is seen as a developmental lineman. But he'll now learn under O-line guru Dante Scarnecchia, which is a great place to be for young linemen. He's also some insurance with Joe Thuney heading into a contract year.

The Patriots will next make back-to-back picks at No. 133 and 134.

12:52 p.m.: The Patriots are now on the clock at No. 118.

12:50 p.m.: Iowa safety Amani Hooker is off the board, going to the Titans at pick No. 116. He was mocked to the Patriots a handful of times. Tennessee traded up with the Jets to jump ahead of both the Lions and Patriots.

The Lions are on the clock with the Patriots on deck with their first pick of the day.

12:15 p.m.: The Cincinnati Bengals moved up to No. 104 and drafted NC State quarterback Ryan Finley.

They have Andy Dalton signed through 2020, but are clearly looking toward the future.

11:30 a.m.: Here we go again, the final day of the NFL Draft. And this is going to be a longgggg one.

The action begins at noon and won't conclude until around 7 p.m., with four full rounds of picks, trades, analysis and awesome reactions from the newest NFLers. The New England Patriots have seven total picks this afternoon:

4th Round, No. 118
4th Round, No. 133
4th Round, No. 134
7th Round, No. 239
7th Round, No. 243
7th Round, No. 246
7th Round, No. 252

Chances are they will not be making all seven of those picks, likely packaging a few to get into the fifth and sixth rounds, which at the moment they'll be watching from the sidelines. After making four picks and four trades Friday night, we're expecting another busy day from the Patriots.

So far New England has drafted a receiver (N'Keal Harry), a corner (Joejuan Williams), an edge rusher (Chase Winovich), another running back (Damien Harris) and a tackle (Yodny Cajuste ). They still have some holes to address, with needs at tight end, linebacker, safety and quarterback. No one would complain if they draft another wide receiver, either.

If the Patriots want a quarterback to groom under Tom Brady, Auburn's Jarrett Stidham and NC State's Ryan Finley are both still out there. At tight end, Stanford's Kaden Smith, Georgia's Isaac Nauta and Boston College's Tommy Sweeny are some intriguing names on the board.

And there are also some rumblings about veterans who could be on the move. Tight end Kyle Rudolph could be available now after the Vikings drafted Texas A&M Jace Sternberger, so the Patriots may be able to use one of those fourth rounders to create a package for the veteran.

Receiver Nelson Agholor is also reportedly on the block in Philly, though he is likely too expensive for New England.

Stick with us throughout the afternoon for all of New England's wheeling and dealing in rounds 4-7 of the 2019 NFL Draft.
