Jamie Collins Has Reportedly Recovered From Illness

BOSTON (CBS) --  While Patriots players have been getting bit by the injury bug lately, a key contributor to the New England defense is reportedly over a different kind of bug.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins is over the virus that kept him out of New England's last two games. The mysterious illness reportedly caused the third-year linebacker to lose weight and strength, as he couldn't keep food down over the last couple of weeks.

It is still unknown how he caught the virus, and publically unknown what exactly the virus was, but the fact Collins is now over it is great news for the Patriots.

Collins was not seen during New England's practice on Wednesday, but if he's able to regain his strength over the weekend there is a chance he could play Monday night when the Patriots host the Buffalo Bills, according to Rapoport.

That would be a huge boost to the New England defense, as Collins leads the team with 51 tackles.
