Patriots Missing Four Starters As Team Begins Final Week Of Practice

BOSTON (CBS) -- The season will come to an end for the Patriots after Sunday's game against the Jets. But the 2020 campaign may already be over for some key starters.

New England was missing four starters when the team took the practice field Wednesday to kick off their final week of 2020. Offensive linemen David Andrews and Shaq Mason, safety Devin McCourty and linebacker Terez Hall did not participate in practice as the team begins preps for Sunday's matchup with the 2-13 New York Jets.

Seven players did not participate in Wednesday's practice:

C David Andrews (calf)
DE Tashawn Bower (neck)
LB Terez Hall (ankle)
LB Anfernee Jennings (shoulder)
G Shaquille Mason (calf)
S Devin McCourty (shoulder)
LB Josh Uche (foot)

Both Andrews and Mason left Monday night's blowout loss to the Bills with injuries. Losing either of them for Sunday's game would further strain a New England offensive line that has struggled as of late. James Ferentz replaced Andrews under center while Jermaine Eluemunor took over at right guard after Mason left against the Bills.

Hall has started four games for the Patriots at linebacker, including each of the last two games. He had a career-high 13 combined tackles two weeks ago against Miami.

Thirteen players were also limited for the Patriots during Wednesday's practice:

LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (shoulder)
DT Adam Butler (shoulder)
LB Shilique Calhoun (knee)
LS Joe Cardona (ankle)
DT Byron Cowart (back)
T Jermaine Eluemunor (ankle)
K Nick Folk (back)
DT Lawrence Guy (shoulder)
RB Damien Harris (ankle)
T Justin Herron (ankle)
CB J.C. Jackson (knee)
WR Donte Moncrief (thigh)
WR Matthew Slater (knee)

New England will hold two more practices this week before closing the season against the Jets.
