More Than 35 Car Break-Ins Reported In Cohasset

COHASSET (CBS) -- At least 35 cars were broken into in Cohasset over the weekend.

Police said most of the thefts took place on Old Pasture Road, and the thieves made off with everything from spare change to laptops and GPS's. In most cases, the cars had been left unlocked. Some break-ins took place overnight.

Mark Hausman, who lives in the area, found his own car vandalized Sunday morning.

"The glove box was completely empty, it was strewn around the car," he told WBZ's Jim Smith. "The center console was ransacked and they had taken everything out of that."

Police are asking that people who live in the area check any surveillance video captured on home security systems.

In nearby Hingham, police said last weekend that property was stolen from 25 unlocked cars, but it's unclear whether the thefts are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
