OUI Charge For Boater In Accident That Severed Woman's Arm

BOSTON (CBS) -- A Charlestown man has been charged with operating a boat under the influence, after a woman passenger was seriously hurt following an accident in Boston Harbor Saturday night.

Benjamin Urbellis, 34, will be arraigned in court Monday, after a woman somehow fell off his recreational boat near Spectacle Island, and received life-threatening injuries as she was being pulled back in.

The woman came in contact with the boat's propeller, severing her arm at the shoulder. She is being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Coast Guard says there were 13 people on the boat and five other people were in the water when rescuers arrived. Officers were able to get them out of the water and they were brought back to shore.
