North Eastham Woman Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash In Wellfleet

WELLFLEET, Mass. (CBS) — Authorities say a 54-year-old North Eastham woman died in a 3-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Wellfleet.

The crash, which occurred on Route 6, was reported at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday after authorities received several 911 calls, according to Wellfleet Police.

Police identified the victim as 54-year-old Wende Harrison, of North Eastham. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harrison was driving a Chevrolet van southbound on Route 6 when it crossed into the northbound lane at Keroauch Road and struck a truck owned by R.W. Townsend & Sons, police said.

The van then continued  in the northbound lane and struck a pick-up truck, according to police.

The drivers and passengers of the truck and other vehicle involved were taken to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both lanes of Route 6 were closed for four hours as traffic was rerouted onto local roads.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
