Donate Used Sneakers For Homeless On One Boston Day

BOSTON (CBS) – The second annual One Boston Day is coming Friday, April 15 and you can help make a difference with your sneakers.

One Boston Day began in 2015 to honor the strength and resiliency of the city in response to the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013.

This year, Marathon sponsor John Hancock will hold a donation drive for used adult sneakers to send to St. Francis House, Boston's largest day shelter.

Shoes are the shelter's greatest need and one of the items most sought after by homeless men and women.

They're looking for sneakers of any condition.

You can bring them to two collection boxes on April 15 at the intersection of Exeter and Boylston Streets, right near the marathon Jumbotron, in the Back Bay.

There will be volunteers collecting sneakers there starting at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
