Man Killed In Tyngsborough Accident Identified

TYNGSBOROUGH (CBS) - Officials have identified the man struck and killed in a Tyngsborough pedestrian accident Wednesday night as 67-year-old Jayprakash Amin.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan identified Amin in a statement Thursday morning.

The Tyngsborough man was struck by a white Silverado truck while walking along Middlesex Road.

He was taken to Lowell General Hospital and then transferred to Beth Israel in Boston where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is being handled by Tyngsborough and State Police.

"Investigators will be analyzing evidence and reviewing information provided by people at the scene to determine the circumstances which led to this fatality," Ryan said.

Police say Amin was struck about 6:20 p.m. The driver of the truck involved in the crash pulled over and stayed at the scene.

The driver and his passenger were not hurt.
