Off-Duty Officer Smashes Car Window To Revive Overdosed Driver In Brockton Crash
BROCKTON (CBS) -- An off-duty officer used a boulder to smash a car window and revive the overdosing driver inside after a crash Tuesday afternoon, Brockton Police said.
The crash happened just after 1 p.m. at West Elm and Brett Streets. Two cars collided head-on after one crossed the yellow line.
Police said Brockton officer Nicole Anderson, a school resource officer, was on a lunch break from CPR training at the Brockton Police station when she came upon the crash scene.
She threw a boulder, pictured above, through the window of his car, and was able to pull him out and revive him with Narcan and CPR.
That driver conscious and alert when he was taken to an area hospital, and will be okay--though police say he may face charges in the crash.
Police said there was no child in the pictured car seat at the time.
It wasn't yet known if there were any other injuries resulting from the crash.
