Everyone was able to safely evacuate the building. A neighbor told WBZ-TV she banged on doors to make sure all residents were out.

Multiple fire departments responded to the scene to knock down the flames. About two dozen people safely ran from their homes.

Fire Chief Paul Schleicher said the building is likely a loss. No one was injured in the fire.

"I think the good news it looks like four of the units people will be able to go back in and get their belongings. These are built on slab, so my guess is they'll have to tear this building down," said Schleicher.
