Girl Reported Missing From North Attleboro Located

NORTH ATTLEBORO (CBS) - A 3-year-old girl who was reported missing from North Attleboro on Friday has been located.

North Attleboro Police said they had information suggesting Vadim Amitan had taken off with his daughter Ava, who was possibly in danger.

The Department of Children and Families said they had emergency custody of the little girl.

"Thank you for everyone's help and shares of our press release. Ava has been located," North Attleboro Police said on Facebook late Friday night. "The BOLO has been cancelled. No further information at this time."

Neighbors saw the two a couple of days ago. "He's always with his daughter. I am telling you, like always no matter what, he is always with his child. She seems like a happy kid jumping, playing," said one resident who did not want her name used.

Neighbors say Vadim Amitan has lived with his daughter in a North Attleboro apartment complex for the past six months.

"I almost hit her with my car because she ran right in front of it, and they weren't really paying attention at the time. They were just having a good time partying, whatever," said neighbor Delanie Smith.

Officers said they were in a Toyota Camry with license plate 8ZB-349. Anyone who has any information should call 911, North Attleboro Police at 508-695-1212, or Massachusetts State Police at 508-820-2121.
