North Andover Man Who Reported Fighting Off Home Invaders Arrested

NORTH ANDOVER (CBS) -- Police arrested a man they say initially reported being a victim of a home invasion.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in North Andover around 11:00a.m. on Sunday. A man who lived at the home told police two people broke in and held a knife to him. The man, 22-year-old Darren Kimball, told police he was injured fighting them off.  Police noticed blood in the home and signs of struggle.

When police question Kimball further, they concluded that he was covering up an armed robbery involving heroin where he was allegedly the perpetrator, not the victim.

Kimball was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Attempted Murder and 2 counts of Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
