3 Students Injured In Norfolk School Bus Crash

NORFOLK (CBS) – Three students were taken to the hospital after a school bus was rear-ended in Norfolk Thursday morning.

The crash happened on Main Street near Clark Street around 7:09 a.m. Holmes Bus Services confirmed one of their buses was taking 17 students to Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School at the time of the crash.

The company says the bus' stop sign was extended when the crash happened. The driver was not injured, but she went home for the day.

A heavily damaged car was towed from the area.

The Norfolk fire department transported the driver of the car involved in the crash and two students to the hospital. Wrentham Fire Department transported a third student. All injuries were minor and not life-threatening.

Another school bus arrived to transport the rest of the students to school.

"By the time I got there, the students were on the other bus. I hopped in and we drove to school just like we should have," said Tri-County Principal Michael Procaccini.
