BOSTON (CBS) - There are very few celebrities that end up being so famous they can be referred to by simply a first name. Pedro Martinez is certainly one of them. Michael Silverman has been covering the Boston Red Sox and Major League Baseball for the Boston Herald since 1995. When he first heard the news that Pedro Martinez had been traded to the Sox in November 1997, Silverman reached out to Martinez to see if he could visit him at his home in the Dominican Republic. To Silverman's surprise, Pedro said yes, and thus began a nearly twenty year relationship between the two. The new book Pedro is a collaboration that takes all of us inside the brain of one of the most dynamic athletes Boston has ever seen. Silverman sits down with Dan tonight to talk about his relationship with one of the greatest pitchers to ever play the game, and how he worked with Pedro to capture his larger-than-life personality on the page.
