NightSide - In Trouble For Painting The Crosswalk

BOSTON (CBS) - Billerica Selectman George Simolaris was fed up with the lack of action. The faded crosswalk in a busy intersection was supposed to have been repainted back in November. But since the town seemed slow or unwilling to act, he decided to finally take matters into his own hands and repaint the crosswalk. Now, the town is threatening to bring charges against him, as well as billing him for thousands of dollars to cover the overtime that was paid to strip the paint he used off the road. George sits down with Dan tonight to tell his story. We will also hear from John Piscatelli, the Chairman of the Billerica Board of Selectman. What do you think? Did George go too far by taking matters into his own hands? Or is that the type of community pride you'd like to see encouraged?
