BOSTON (CBS) - We all know that the internet has opened up the door to an entire world of hackers and cyber-crime. But did you know that there is a type of software called "ransomware" that can essentially hold your computer hostage? The FBI, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies representing forty other countries, recently took down a massive cyber-crime network that specialized in ransomware and other types of malware. Joe Bonavolanta, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Cyber and Counterintelligence Program in the FBI's Boston office, talks with Dan about the dangers of ransomware and how to protect yourself.
