NightSide - Can We Finally Fix The MBTA?

BOSTON (CBS) - The MBTA has been a mess for decades, with last year's record-setting winter exposing problems that were long in the making. This year, we could be looking at a ten percent increase in fares, as well as cutbacks in services and routes. Yet despite these problems, it was recently uncovered that a quarter of MBTA employees make over $100,000 a year, and that one employee is actually averaging fifty-two hours of overtime pay per week! With a business model that relies on overtime, a mountain of debt, and trains that are too old to run dependably, how can the troubled organization get back on track? WBZ-TV's Jon Keller joins Tim to talk about the troubles the MBTA will be dealing with as we kick off 2016.

Originally broadcast December 28th, 2015.
