NightSide - A Plastic Bag Ban In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston City Council is considering a plastic bag ban for retailers in the city. The new rule would completely ban single-use plastic bags, and would establish a fee of at least five cents for reusable or compostable paper bags, available at the checkout. The idea behind the ban is to cut down on litter, but is this an example of government going too far? Phil Rozenski, Policy Chair for the American Progressive Bag Alliance, and Boston City Councilor Matt O'Malley, who proposed the ban, join Dan in the NightSide studio to talk about the pros and cons of the plan. Should customers be allowed to decide whether or not they'd like to use reusable bags? Do you prefer plastic bags when you do your grocery shopping? Where do you stand on the potential plastic bag ban?
