Woman Charged With Driving Drunk With 2 Kids In Car

MERRIMACK, N.H. (CBS) -- A woman in New Hampshire has been charged with driving drunk while two young children were in the car with her over the weekend.

Lorene Kush, 45, of Merrimack, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child after the incident Sunday night.

Police were called about an erratic driver who nearly struck a vehicle head-on on Joppa Road shortly before 7:30 p.m. While still on the line with police, the caller also reported another near collision on Wire Road.

Officers found the car and stopped it. Kush appeared to be impaired, police say, and she was driving with a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old child inside. After a brief investigation, Kush was taken into custody.

She was later released on $2,500 bail. She is due in court Sept. 22.
